This headboard is the exact color as the picture. It was fairly easy to assemble. We wanted one that supported a box spring and this fit our new king sized Tempur-Pedic box spring and mattress beautifully. Definitely glad we found this beauty.I love the bed. I purchased it for my 11 year old daughter. She and I put it together with very little trouble. I do wish the slats that hold up the mattresses were much more sturdy.
