Have been using it for a few months now and haven't had any issues from it. I would recommend if you chose to buy this product have same kind of barrier from it if you plan on laying a new mattress directly on to it.I’m using these to provide extra firmness to my mattress. I like a very firm mattress, and didn’t want to use plywood. I have these in between my mattress and box spring, and they’re working very well. They’re very easy to use, and to move if necessary. They’re a great value as well. I’m very happy about this purchase. I would definitely recommend. It made my foam bed much more comfortable. These wooden slats came in a box that is deceptively heavy. It looks a lot lighter than it really is. The wood accounts for the weight. It is real wood, folks. That being said, I was very disappointed with how the wooden slats were made. They weren't uniform in size at all.I ordered two of these to interweave them because the space between them was a lot larger than what was recommended by my memory foam mattress manufacturer and I didn't want to take any chances in voiding the warranty, so I wanted to interleave the two sets of slats, laying one in between the other. This turned out to be much more of a chore than it should have been. The boards were not cut uniformly. Instead, they were cut quite irregularly, making it quite difficult to get the boards to fit in the space between the slats. This is despite the fact that there should have been more than enough room to do this. I ordered the regular slats, which are 2-3/8 thick, and the gap between the slats is 3-3/8. This should have left an entire inch of space between the slats when the two sets were interwoven but because of their irregular shapes sometimes they were touching at the top and then wouldn't fit in at the bottom.Add to this problem that the slats weren't finished well. Many of them had splinters coming off them, and some had entire slices of wood peeling away. This made the slats very difficult to handle when trying to interleave the two sets together. After a few hours, a friend and I finally got the slats to fit in together, after a lot of pushing, squeezing, and eventually hammering. But we shouldn't have had to do that. All we should have had to do was lay the second set in the empty spaces on top of the first set. I could have overlooked the splintering wood and a slightly irregular shape of the slats but the way these came out, I wouldn't recommend getting them unless you're in a real bind. It's like the person who made these was drunk or something and then didn't care about finishing off the wood so consumers wouldn't get splinters when handling them.I am quite concerned about the splinters knawing away at the underside of my mattress, and hope that it's not doing any damage to my mattress.I had a metal bunkie board for my queen bed that I purchased to lower the height of my bed. It solved that but the slats were 7 inches apart and I was afraid it wasn't enough support for my 14 inch mattress. I started searching for something that would add support without adding too much height. I ordered this, it arrived today and I couldn't be happier! I put it on top of the bunkie board and I did put felt sticky pads to avoid noise. This was so easy to put on my bed. Offers the additional support I wanted, no noise or clanking against the bunkie board. Definitely recommend!Unfortunately, I received cracked, broken, splintered boards. I had to use duck tape for lack of better idea. I would have returned it, if it weren’t so difficult for me to do so.Our bed was too high. We replaced our box spring with this vertical support. It fit perfect and solved our problem. Our bed is now the proper height and much safer for us to get in and out of bed. We love this product. Thank you so much. It’s not pretty, but it’s sturdy and out-of-sight. It does exactly what it’s supposed to (support my mattress). It’s quite heavy, so getting it into place is ideally a two-person job, but I managed it on my own. Once installed, you never need to look at it again—unless you move. In that case, this transports super easily at it folds on itself, rather like an accordion.
