I have a full memory foam mattress that my wife and I felt was just a little bit too firm. We got this mattress topper to add a bit more cush to our mattress and it worked perfectly. I used to wake up while sleeping on my side because my shoulders would be really painful from sleeping on them, and this mattress topper has almost completely eliminated that problem for me. My back feels better as well. It does feel a bit warmer than just my mattress so keep that in mind. I don't believe there's really any way around it other than journeying a fan on in the bedroom. The topper does tend to slide around a little bit on top of our mattress, but nothing terrible.Should have gone with 4" or even better spent more money for better quality as topper was to soft not providing enough body support.bought this for my daughter's dorm room and she loves it! This mattress topper is moderately firm, which when laid over my current foam mattress, gives an additional 1" firm support with 2" of sink-in-for-the-night softness. The pad is all one type of foam, let me be clear. It has just the right amount of give, and springs back to form 15-20 seconds after getting up from it, even with a mattress cover over it.I would recommend it for anyone with a futon that's gone lumpy, a mattress with hard spots, or a cot that's just plain not ok as it has saved my shoulder and hip from the normal morning soreness I had as a side sleeper. It does retain some warmth, but not as much as you would think given that it's made entirely of foam; I did not end up in a pool of sweat even with my fuzzy winter blanket. Rolling over is still easy, you will not get trapped in the softness like some pillowtop mattresses can do.Overall, the first night on this pad was the best sleep I've had in the last 4 years. Extremely happy with this item for the quality and price.
